Sonia G – The Mini Microfiber Brush Cleaning Cloth

It has been quite some time since we launched our very first microfiber cloth in 2020, which we named “To the moon and back“. That original cloth measured 24 × 24 cm and featured one cotton side and one microfiber side. It worked really well, but because I am always travelling with it, I found myself wishing for a smaller version that would be more practical on the go.

I wanted something compact enough to fit more easily into a makeup bag, while still offering enough surface area to clean all of our brushes when travelling. With this in mind, we created this mini version measuring 15 x 15cm.

You may know that South Korea has built a strong reputation for producing exceptional microfiber, so we decided to explore that further. After some research, we found a manufacturer who could meet our standards for quality and finishing, whilst also being incredibly patient with us as we tested many different versions and fiber lengths until we found a microfiber that was, as Goldilocks would say, just right.
We also took the time to get to know them, and we sincerely enjoyed working with them. That part is very important to me. I really want to know the people I work with and take the time to build a good longterm relationship.

Why a microfiber brush cleaning cloth ?

Microfiber cloths are excellent for cleaning brushes between products or after use, and they genuinely help extend the life of our brushes by reducing how often they need to be washed. They become even more essential when travelling, since we cannot always wash our brushes but still need them to perform well. This is especially important for foundation and cream brushes, as leftover product can cause the bristles to clump together and affect blending.

THE MINI MICROFIBER BRUSH CLEANING CLOTH

This Mini Microfiber Brush Cleaning Cloth measures 15 x 15 cm, there is piping around so the cleaning area measures 14 × 14 cm (5.5 in). It features our signature red logo tag, the same that is inside our Companion pouches.

We can use both sides. You will notice that the front has a flatter pile, while the back is woven with a deeper pile.
The flatter side is perfect for cleaning shorter, firmer brushes, while the deeper side works beautifully for face brushes with longer bristles.

The cloth comes in a vivid light blue, this shade is really convenient because we can still easily see whether any makeup residue is being released from the brushes.

This is a very convenient size for travelling as it can be folded and it will fit easily in a make-up bag.
This pic is to show you how this cloth would fit in the Double Decker’s central pocket. Since the cloth is 15×15 cm (5.9 in), it folds down easily and slips into most flat pockets in cosmetic bags.

HOW TO USE IT

One side of the cloth has a flatter pile, and the other a slightly longer pile. Both sides can be used however you like, for instance, one for powder brushes and one for cream brushes, or one for eye brushes and the other for the face brushes.
I find the longer pile great for brushes with longer bristles, though both sides get the job done.

If needed, you can also spray your cleansing solution onto the cloth to quickly spot‑clean your brushes.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

It’s recommended to wash these microfiber cloths in a protective wash bag at 30°C. Please don’t wash them in the same wash as cotton unless you use the protective bag, since the cotton will act like “Velcro” and leave cotton fibres in the microfibers, impeding their ability to pick the makeup off your brushes. Also, it is recommended to avoid using fabric softener or bleach.

If you purchase the Microfiber Cloths, they will come with a mini wash bag but if you prefer, you can also wash them by hand.
The Microfiber cloths are manufactured in South Korea, and the mini wash bag is made in China.

The wash bag has a zipper that can be stored under the elastic band during washing.

AVAILABILITY

These Microfiber Cloths are sold in packs of three, each pack includes three cloths and a mini wash bag. This bundle retails for 25 USD.

The packaging is actually very basic, they are simply protected in a closed plastic bag during transport.

Since these cloths are mini, we thought it made sense to bundle them in packs of three. This way, you can rotate them more easily: use one, wash one, and have one ready for your next trip.

The Microfiber Cloths will be available for pre-order on Beautylish starting this Friday, 22nd of May 2026, at 9 AM PT at the same time as their Spring into Summer event starts.
At this moment, we are still waiting for the shipment to arrive. It should arrive shortly, so if you are interested you can preorder starting on the 22nd of May and Beautylish will ship them to you as soon as they arrive.
