The Mini Soft Brush Book was launched for the first time in December 2024 and we are so happy to bring it back in stock this October 20th, 2025 at 10am PT.
All the information and details about this Mini Soft Brush Book are available on this post. This little pouch was designed to carry brushes with the mini handles, like the Mini Keyaki or the Mini Essentials.
There are no changes to this Mini Soft Brush book, it will be exactly the same with the same configuration. We just have a little update with regards to the dust bag that comes with this little pouch.
Whilst talking with one of our suppliers, we realized that they had lots of material left over when they produce towels. Both the supplier and ourselves (and we imagine most people!) don’t like waste, so we decided that instead of creating a new dust bag, which would also generate its own amount of waste material, we would up-cycle these left overs into dust bags for our brush pouches. This time around the color is lavender, but it might change for future orders depending on what towels they have available.
The dust bags are made in Imabari which is located in Ehime prefecture in a small manufacture, a stunning 2 hour drive from Hiroshima. Imabari, amongst other things, is famed for the quality and absorbency of the cotton towels produced there. The high quality of the water in this area directly impacts the towel production and gives the Imabari towels their high level of softness and absorbency.
These bags, since they are made from towel left-overs, retain the properties of the towels and we have therefore presented them for certification – so you will see a red, white and blue “Imabari Towel” tag attesting to their quality. We don’t know if we will present future models for this certification (although they will also have the same quality), since it has a cost, and even a change of color means they need to be presented again, but we decided that in our initial batch we would like to draw attention to the importance of the Imabari certification- For the quality and the recognition they deserve.
As an aside, the trip to Imabari from the mainland is stunning. There are many long bridges between each island, with breathtaking views of the Seto inland sea and islands all along the way – If you’re ever in this area, don’t miss these views and the architecture of the many bridges – especially if you’re there around sunset!

I just bought the Mini Soft Brush Book and found it to be delivered as a bulk article. Is this intentionally?
The very nice Imabari dust bag came neatly packed and protected in a plastic foil. Now the teddy cloth is washable but the brush book is not. I’m as careful with brush storage as you are and I’m not happy the Mini Soft Brush Book came without any protection around it.
Dear Katha, I am so sorry about that, yes it is supposed to be shipped inside it. Did the Mini Soft Brush book come inside a plastic bag as well? Dear Sonia, thank you for your answer. The Mini Soft Brush book didn’t came inside a plastic bag or other way of protection, it just came loose. Which is my concern. The Imabari dustbag, which I like a lot, however came protected in a foil. Now I did spend the money on the well crafted Mini Brush Book to store my Mini Keyaki Brushes safely. For me, this includes of course hygiene and I would have appreciated something like a plastic foil to protect the Brush Book during handling, packaging and shipping. Can the Mini Brush Book be sanitized? What would you recommend?
Using short handled brushes almost exclusively, I like your creation of the Mini Keyaki brushes a lot! They are just the right size and perfect quality. Thank you for creating these!
Hi Katha, Thank you for all these details! They are usually shipped in bulk but protected in a protective pouch but I am waiting for more information from Beautylish and the manufacturer.
What I think happened is that someone came to help them pack the orders as they were probably very busy and that person may not have been informed about this.
I know that the items are packed really carefully, and that the warehouse is super clean since they are handling beauty items that need to stay in a very clean atmosphere, but I want to wait for all the replies before I get back to you. Please kindly allow me a couple of days! I also want to confirm about the cleaning as I want to share all the options.

Hi Katha, thank you again for letting me know. The Mini Soft Brush Book came in a plastic bag, when it’s packed, they make sure it’s protected. The plastic bag was just removed before putting it in the parcel. The person was just confused and we are talking about it at this moment.
We cannot spray alcohol onto the Brush Book, it’s not recommended by the manufacturer, I am still talking to them to see what other suggestions, I will contact you directly tomorrow. Thank you for your patience!
