The Lotus Set Launch and the Fusion brushes restock details

by Sonia G.

We are approaching the launch date of the Limited Edition Lotus set, I wanted to answer some questions that I saw in your comments and also share an update about the upcoming restocks.

The restock of the Fusion brushes

The restock of the Fusion brushes was not supposed to arrive this early but we managed to prepare and split a shipment of the ongoing production and we had it shipped before time. If all goes well, upon the launch of the Lotus set, we can have both the Fusion and the Lotus brushes available together on the 14th of July at 10am PT on Beautylish. If you have any questions about these brushes before the restock, please leave me a comment below and I will make sure I reply to you on time.

I just wanted to confirm that the Fusion brushes are now part of the permanent collection and they will keep coming back in stock.

The Lotus Set

You can find all the details and information about the Lotus set in my previous post but since I received some more specific questions since it was posted, I would like to answer these few additional questions below.

I know that it wasn’t long since I launched the Fusion series and now this Lotus set comes right after…
I have been working on the Fusion brushes since 3 years so when it was finally possible to kick off production, I just went ahead and followed the artisans’ schedule. I am a very small brand dealing with products that are handmade so we cannot leave these products in a warehouse once they have been completed and it’s also quite difficult to start or end the production at a very precise date, we do our very best but there are too many factors involved. I hope that the launch of the Fusion and the Lotus brushes so close to each other doesn’t bother you.

Regarding this Lotus set, I have been thinking about making a more colorful set since I started seeing your messages wishing for pink or purple handles and then I really started craving for bright handles, something bold, cheerful and fun! Also, suddenly, the possibility to make colorful brass ferrules finally arrived-I was asking and waiting for that to be possible for almost 5 years, my very first brush designs had colorful brass ferrules but it was not possible to make them back then.

I thought it would be fun to try to make a handle with uplifting colors and since we could not yet work on the restock of the brushes that were missing in my permanent collection, it has been really nice to still keep working with the artisans on something different.

As you will see in this Lotus set, the brushes are bundled with super soft saikoho bristles, we had to keep the bristles under a certain length, but with these shapes and specs, these brushes are extremely functional. Unfortunately, the set is Limited Edition and can only be sold as a set. For a Fude (handmade make-up brush) set, the price is really good as you may know that the craftsmanship and the cost of the materials is very high in Japan.

You also asked me if I could add some of these Lotus brushes in the permanent collection, it is not planned.
If you have any comments, suggestions or requests, please do feel free to send me a message or leave me a comment below and I will of course do my best.

The other restocks

There is only me behind Sonia G brushes and as you see, the evolution of the brushes depends on many factors, also of course on what you love and what is technically possible. Things that weren’t possible 5 years ago become possible as we move forward and I do love to innovate, to make brushes a bit different but that we can easily integrate in our daily routines.

I do not intend to play with availability or scarcity, or anything of the sort, that’s certainly not who I am. The reason why we cannot produce more brushes is because it’s not technically possible, these are handmade brushes with non-standard handles that are handmade, extremely expensive and that take a very long time to complete and we cannot produce batches of brushes that are bigger. The only thing I can do is to bring them back as soon as it is technically possible and I couldn’t be happier.

There are restocks in production at the moment, they will arrive little by little as it becomes possible but I don’t have a timeline yet, probably the next to come after this is the Face One. I am very grateful that you are patient, so thank you so much for trusting me!

I will soon do a giveaway with Fusion and Lotus brushes included so please stay tuned in case you are interested!

ooh how nice that you mention it, thank you! I was just talking about it with my mother in law 5 minutes ago as she is here for a few days.
I was in Provence (France) last week, a bit in the middle of nowhere, just for a few days with my husband and daughter. I bought this piece of olive tree at a local artisan. They told me to glaze it with olive oil once in a while to restore its aspect and color so let’s see how it goes 🙂 it’s quite beautiful indeed! We rented an old house and the owner also makes delicious olive oil and brought home a lot of it 😀

How hugely lovely! A piece of an olive tree from out in the middle of nowhere in Provence. And where you stayed just happens to have a person who makes olive oil! Provence…..Providence!!!! Looking forward to your ideas for future creations! so special

Hi Sonia. Would you mind telling me please if there is a date scheduled for a third restock of the Fusion Series? I am thinking I will focus on trying to purchase the Lotus Set (fingers and toes crossed) and due to limited finances purchase the fusion set at a later date (as i want them all lol). Cheers Kellie 🙂

Hi Charli! This is wonderful, thank you! It was the idea but wasn’t sure if it would work out, the artisan made a fantastic job so it’s thanks to him that we get this result! Sending you lots of huge hugs!!

I cannot stop staring at the video you posted to Instagram. Such a lovely showing of both of your new sets, and I have a deep love for anything wooden, like your lovely tray.

I’m so looking forward to Wednesday. I hope I can grab this Lotus Set. I don’t have any Builder or Worker from you, and these undyed beauties are calling my name. The smallest eye brush is such a curiosity to me. I’d love to know how it compares to the Wayne Goss 04 because I really want to find a backup of that brush from another brand. Your Crease Pro seems to be very similar to the WG 04, but this smallest eye brush from the Lotus Set seems to be a very special one indeed. The undyed cheek brush will be so fun to own, and I cannot wait to use it. The small angled brush is something I don’t have at all in my collection, save for the Koyudo Akabeko brush, which is larger and squirrel. So something smaller would be greatly appreciated. And the large foundation brush is completely unique to me. I do own the large WG 24S, but I find the length of that one intimidating. This fan brush you’ve made here seems so interesting to me. I can swish away and place foundation everywhere with it, especially after washing it and watching it bloom. Such beauty. Such form. Such artistry. Thank you for creating these brushes. Can you tell I’m excited?

Hi Mary! thank you!! oh I love wooden pieces too, so happy that you do too!
Well if you don’t have any builder or worker, this is amazing, it makes even more sense to get the set!
The Wayne Goss 04 is much bigger than the Soft Definer in the Lotus set, the Soft Definer is really more like a pencil brush, you can use it for many tasks but not as a replacement for the WG04. The Crease Pro is indeed the closest in size but it’s more decisive and firmer in comparison to the WG 04.
I am so happy that you are curious about the foundation brush, I thought a Limited Edition set was a great opportunity for this more unique brush as it was quite different from the Fusion series, I really really hope you will love it! Yes I can tell you are excited and this is the best I could wish for! thank you so so much! please do let me know what you think about the set and how it works for you! I hope to speak to you again, please take care! hugs!

Thank you so much for your kind reply! I couldn’t help myself. I ordered the Crease Pro and cannot wait to try it out. Now to wait for the Lotus Set. Thank you again for all that you do. Your site has been such a treasure for me. I search it often for pictures of brushes and for your wonderful comparisons! Your love of Fude is so inspiring. I hope this week finds you and your family well.

Hi Sonia, will the Lotus set be restocked after this launch? It was very unexpected ( not I’m complaining I’m grateful for something new so fast!) I am trying to get my hands on the classic base and jumbo base from the fusion set and maybe the lotus set, the handles are so beautiful (I’m being pulled from both sides), but my fear is the beautylish site will not be able to handle the traffic (like the fusion set) it will be double with a new limited edition set and a restock.

Update on this comment: the lotus set is great as I don’t have any of the repeat brushes and I find the foundation brush to be an interesting shape to choose.

Hi Ashley,
Thank you so much for being so understanding and for your kindness.
It is not planned to restock and all the sets arrived already so I know there is nothing pending delivery.
I see what you mean, I will check with Beautylish if there is something we can do to help the experience.
In any case, I will take note of all of your comments and feedback and the only thing I want is that you all have a great experience and I hope that everyone who wants a set can have one. I will be taking all your requests and see how it goes.
Thank you again so much for this great feedback!

Hi Carla!

Thank you! I really appreciate your support and I understand that the limited edition factor can be annoying. I am so sorry about that. Did you want to get the set at a later date or some particular brushes that seemed more interesting to you?

Dear Sonia. You make such beautiful brushes! I have my husband prepped and ready to stalk Beautylish’s site for your Lotus Set and Fusion Series since I am working! He has a less rigid workflow than I do and am very lucky to have such a supportive partner in life <3 He even bought me my first fude brush- Surratt's Face Powder brush which I cherish as a memento. Since that brush, I have been slowly collecting my fude collection. I even made some new friends on Instagram and YouTube that share the same fude passion. I truly attribute finding you and your beautiful brushes through Tor (@tortorre), Tara (@tarababyz), Michele (@michelewang), Alicia (@kinkysweat), and Phoebe (@my_makeupspace). Thank you for sharing your passion! Wishing you another successful launch! Warm Regards, Lea J.

Hi Lea, he is indeed amazing, it’s quite rare to have partners that understand easily so this is great, keep him tight! lol and he even participates! that’s so nice! I remember my now-husband used to get me brushes for Christmas and birthdays 😀 he never knew which ones to get me so I just placed the order with his CC when he wanted to get me a present! 😀
I am very lucky to have such a great community sharing the love for Fude! it’s truly precious and I feel blessed and grateful every single day!

Hi Sonia!
The Lotus set is absolutely beautiful. I also like the concept of the Fusion series and it’s great to know that it is part of the permanent collection.

The brushes speak for themselves. They are such great quality and I am so appreciative that you design them with sensitive skin in mind. You and your company are unique! It’s refreshing as you are so passionate about all things fude and engage with us, your customers. That we get to come along and learn about the creative process. the craftsmanship and artisans is both engaging and a pleasure.

I’m excited about the launch tomorrow. I do have one question regarding the Fusion set. Even though the brushes are designed to be used with creams and liquids would they work well with powder such as the Hourglass blush? I think they would work well with the Vanish sticks but am curious if the mix of synthetic and natural hair can be used for both.

Thank you Sonia! Also, thanks to the artisans for their work and I wish you, your family and all in the company the best of health.

Hi Kris!
I feel very privileged to be so close to you all and at the same time so close to the artisans, I think it helps to truly convey the passion and the appreciation for their work. The artisans are delighted and so so grateful and honored, it’s very encouraging to their legacy that their craft creates so much enthusiasm!
The Fusion brushes can indeed be used with powders, I use the classic base with some hourglass finishing powders and I use it also with a coraly blush that I find too sheer on me otherwise so the Classic Base helps me to build and polish the application more easily. I heard many were using the Fusion brushes with mineral foundation too. The natural mix in the Fusion helps a lot with the blending or buffing, it almost acts like a fully natural brush. The thing is that they are very dense brushes for powders so this is just to keep in mind as they may deliver a strong application if the products are too powdery or very pigmented. Please go ahead and try and let me know!
Thank you so much for your incredible kind words, I also wish you all the very best <3

Hi! It’s in production at the moment and I don’t know when we will receive it, it will still take some time unfortunately but it will arrive as stand alone and set. I will keep you all posted on the progress, we are just at a stage that I really can’t predict the completion, it depends on many factors that aren’t under my control but I really wish for it to arrive fast and I hope it does! thank you for your patience, I am doing everything I can to bring it back asap!!

Hi dear Sonia, lately I’ve been more into makeup and only found out about your brushes not too long ago through Michele Wang’s video. I really wanted to get this set but I’m really low on funds this month. In the past months my eyes have been super sensitive and with allergies so I’ve been thinking of purchasing the softest eye brushes. Which brushes would you recommend for someone with sensitive, deep set and super small eyes? ;D
One thing I believe we should splurge on makeup is definitely brushes.

Sonia G. 16 July, 2021 - 11:38 pm

Hi Maria, I have the same issue too and my eyes get very sore if I use rough brushes or products that give me irritation.
Are you more looking for something extremely soft or soft goat bristles would be fine for you? do you have any example of a softness that you expect? maybe you have a brush at home that is soft enough for you.
I will know how to guide you better. I would recommend you the Soft Shader and the Soft Definer to start with but it depends if you love crease brushes and if you wish one (or you could even consider the Keyaki set but those are short handles). Brushes do make a difference, so happy that these are of interest to you and I thank you so much for your kind message. Let me know what kind of shapes you like and what type of softness do you expect so I can help you further! talk soon!

Hi dear Sonia. Today I just found out that I am allergic to eyelash curlers, I get the tiniest rash every time I use them. ; (
I think soft goat bristles would be fine for me. As long as the bristles are soft and are flexible and don’t tug the skin. I do prefer crease brushes, yours look specially neat as they are domed. A lot of brands make them too pointy which does not suit my taste. On top of your recommendations, which were spot on, so you get more of a sense of what I like, on your collection I also really like the Classic Crease, the Blender Pro and the Detail Pro.
I really wanted to get the Lotus Set but it’s impossible for me to afford it this month, my favourite brush was actually the Soft Definer. Will that particular brush be available, even if in another colour, in the future?
Thank you

Hi Sonia, I have been wanting to buy your brushes for such a long time and I finally took the plunge. I love love love love your Sculpt one and four . My face is round with a small nose. So, I prefer angular applications and there is nothing as divine as your fan brushes. Would you please consider making your lotus base brush a permanent one? Love the concept of it. The lotus base would be perfect to get product to the top of my tiny nose. Thanks! XOXO

Hi Amrita, I take note of it, not sure if that will be possible but I definitely take note! I see what you mean and I am delighted to hear that fan type of foundation brushes can be appealing, I know I go sometimes too strong with fan brushes but they have so so much potential! But let’s see what happens in the future! I thank you so much for your great feedback, it’s fantastic to read that this brush is nicely received and of course I am so happy that you love fans!! thank you!! <3

Hello to the Queen of makeup Brushes I just ordered the Lotus And the fusion however I didn’t realize the fusion was out of stock. They say it will be shipped July 21st. Do you know if that’s the true date? Either way I’ll be a happy camper to play with the Lotus until I receive the fusion. I was treated for having a very very hard life growing up and what a great it was. It would be amazing if the memories could go away but that’s a life long journey I’ll have to figure out how to do that one.
Well I really don’t want to take a lovely gift and now it on a nightmare so the end of that. Off to these beautiful STUNNING brushes. Can’t wait.
Thanks so much to all. SoniaG you are the bomb

Hello Michelle!
The Fusion was supposed to arrive several days ago but got stuck in transit. It was finally released yesterday so we are probably a few hours or one day away from the order being shipped to you!
I totally understand how you must feel, what helped me a lot to get rid of those scars and tone down those memories is to have people around me today who accept me and who said I was a warrior. It makes us stronger to experience pain and difficulties and even though the memories won’t ever go away, you’ll feel stronger. It’s how I feel today and I hope you will feel the same way. I am so sorry that you had to go through nightmare experiences.
One day at a time and we need to enjoy every moment and love ourselves for all that we are or are not 🙂
Thank you for getting the brushes! I hope they reach you super quickly now that finally we got them unstuck!!!
Sending you lots of love!!! <3

It would be so awesome if you could add the detail brush & soft definer to your permanent collection with either blue or red handles. * crosses fingers*.
