Well.. you may not know this yet but I have been dreaming and hoping for this to finally happen!
I am so happy to finally announce that I have been working closely with Kumano artisans to create my very own brush collection.
I designed these brushes with the priority of being functional and super efficient but it was also very important that they were unique and beautiful, I have put all my passion, my heart and soul in these brushes and my collaboration with the artisans was an incredible experience.
I am very grateful to all of you, without you this would never have happened. I have no words to describe how much this means to me… Thank you!!! ❤ If you want to read a bit more about me, Beautylish have posted an article on their website. Link here. I have to admit this feels completely surrealistic to me…
I will share more with you after the Beautylish launch, for now, if you are interested in this collection and would like to enter your email in the notification list, please use the following link.
I haven’t yet figured out which direction the blog is going to continue, I still have a few brush reviews in draft mode that I will share with you (CDJapan, Rae Morris, etc), then I am not sure what will happen, we will see!
You will find more info on the brushes also here.

I signed up as soon as you posted the glorious news on Instagram – so excited and happy for you!!
No doubt they will be unique and amazing and beautiful, like you! Can’t wait to place my order.
Congratulations angel!! Xx
Congratulations! So much information about the brushs. Good job!
hi sonia, do you have plans to sell the brushes in the set individually? i certainly do hope so! congratulations!
Congratulations, Sonia! Although I have not purchased brushes for a couple of years, I purchased your set as soon as I received the email from Beautylish. The brushes look amazing, from the excellent choice of hair for each brush and the exquisite lacquer handles! I won’t be using the liquid cream brush but am excited to receive the pencil brush which I’m hoping will be close to a Suqqu S dupe and the fan brushes as I don’t have any long handled ones for some reason. I guess I thought they would be awkward to use, but since you designed them, I want to try all of them! Great job in designing and at a terrific price point, too! Wishing you success, health, and serenity in the new year!
Congratulations! Sonia, you helped me years ago, when I was ready to buy my first Japanese brushes. I am still loving and using all of my Hakuhodo and Chikahodo beauties.
Thank you for helping to create this fine-looking set; thinking about the softness of the large fan brush is making my heart beat a little faster. Blessings!!
Congratulations on your new line of makeup brushes! I have trusted your reviews emphatically and cannot wait to try out your brushes. They look beautifully designed and most of all, they look so functional!
Kudos and well wishes along with everyone on your brushes! Looking forward to purchasing a few later (after the holidays).
Finally, I have two of your absolutely stunning brushes in my hands! I purchased Worker One & Face Two, and they are So soft! Now the softest I own. I could rub Face Two on my cheeks for minutes just to relax!!! Seriously! OK, tomorrow big test for my makeup using them.
yes!!!! oh thank you thank you thank you!!! I hope all is ok!! hugs!!
Holá Sonia, felicidades! I discovered your blog a couple of weeks ago and I am so impressed about your passion and your knowledge!! Really amazing. Wish you all the best for your collection. Looking forward that you sell them one day separate cause I would love to buy some of them. Is there any plan to sell them separately? All the best for you. Cheers, Sandra
Congratulations, you deserve much success. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, I hope you will continue the blog, I always look forward to your reviews. Have a great Holiday Sewson. I can’t wait to get my hands on your brushes!
Oh Sonia, I’m behind on my emails but thank goodness I didn’t miss out on this!!! I’ve been waiting and bought it as soon as I saw it. I’ve been following you for years (you may remember you got me the red squirrel blush brush while you were in Japan a few years back! Still my favorite brush because of that reason), I’m so thrilled this is happening for you! It was great to read more about you and your background as well. What an amazing accomplishment, congratulations! I can’t wait to get them next week!!!
I just received my order from Beautylish this morning. The brushes are stunningly beautiful and a joy to use. Congratulations and here’s to more in the future!
Congratulations , was going to order another Wayne set when I noticed yours. And had to have them. Omg I can’t wait, expecting delivery on Wednesday. Years ago you had helped me with my first brush set. Still have them and adored them. But now I am going to have YOURS. I am in heaven . Dreamy!!!
Sonia, your brushes are, in a word… divine! Thank you for taking your time and for putting such care into their development and manufacture. Years ago, your blog, your experience, and your passion helped me to decide which Hakuhodo and Chikuhodo brushes I would add to my collection; I still check in when something new comes available. Thank you and many blessings! Mary
Hi Mary,
so glad our paths crossed, thank you so much for your support! I hope the new ones won’t be long 😉
Bless you sweetie!! <3
***Congradulations SoniaG*** Can i please ask whether it is possible for the brushes to be sold individually from beautylish in the future? Thank u very much for sharing your experiences
Hi MaryAnn!!
Thank you so much! sure! they will be released individually very soon, they are still aiming to arrive online in January so I hope all will be ready by then 🙂 Thank you again!!
Hey Sonia, so nice to hear that they will be coming out individually soon. Is it possible for you to let us know the prices of each? I’m especially interested in the Pencil One & Worker One.
They’re out as singles, yeah!!!!
Am i being somewhat obtusive to please ask whether your amazing brushes will also be available from cdjapan since your brushes are made in Japan ? [cdjapan allows maximum of 30 items delivery via E.M.S. to PO Box in Australia while Beauylish only allows X5 per brush and no more than aggregate amount of US$735 (above converted AUD$1,000 per order will incur Oz custom charges so I usually stay > $970 and don’t forget to add on Paypal Charges) to a delivery address (no P.O. Box allowed) in Australia]. I will admit I hv an OCD thing with needing 1 set of pair: X1 to use, X1 as standby when other is being washed) AND if i love the brush, the Backup set for the pair because i absolutely hate it when a brush i love is discontinued (sorry, u dont need to hear my wacko desperation)…
Ever since middle of last year when my Kanebo-Lunasol eye brushes (pine squirrel) got too scratchy on my eyelids, i googly-discovered yr Blog and I hv been re-reading yr reviews of brushes that i am just interested in or just leisurely reading yr posts on other makeup brushes to the extent that my Hubby wld occassionally peek-a-boo at my new reading obsession probably wondering whether i was texting anr dude or serving porn… For working mums like me whose daily makeup time is the only “Me time” per day, we are truly LUCKY that u r still sharing and now creating yr own line because u earnestly love/care about luxuriously dense-yet-soft makeup brushes made from higher quality bristles eg blue squirrel and saikoho hair to apply makeup while I feel brushes created eg by famous makeup artists concentrate more on efficient application so they don’t zoom at that extra mile on the comfort aspect… which is why i’d rather splurge on yr fluffilicious brushes because i hv been able to withhold buying brushes shaped like Pencil One and Builder One PRECISELY BECAUSE the hair of those brushes are not tapered or dense enough nor are they made of blue Squirrel or Saikoho…so again, thank you very much with all my heart that u hv set a higher standard of makeup brushes for everyone who wish to relaxingly or rushingly enjoy applying makeup/touch-ups. ;D
Ps, and yes thanks to yr posts i hv spent handsomely on cdjapan orders ^_^
Hi MaryAnn,
Your comment is so sweet, so kind, I am so grateful that I was able to find people like you through the blog!
First of all, your first question: I don’t have plans to work with CDJapan or directly from Japan, Beautylish have exclusivity of the brushes from the USA. The good thing for me is that they take care of many things that I could not do on my own, but I will talk to Beautylish about this just in case something can be done! I will contact you in private.
You really make me smile! I am with you, I hate it when a brush is discontinued, it happened to me several times! If mine sell, they won’t be discontinued but it takes a very long time to manufacture them! and something that I learned while entering this stage of my life is that things don’t always evolve the way we expect them too, so maybe a brush will have to stop or change in a way that it may look the same, but for some it won’t be the same anymore… if you see what I mean, we see a difference in a detail that means the world -only- to us.
It’s for people like you that I have created these brushes, you have no idea how your comment fills me with all sorts of emotions. If you can see the difference, feel this experience daily and enjoy the brushes, gosh this is all to me. I am sad that you live in Australia because this is too damn far away for me to hop there and thank you in person but maybe one day I’ll be able to do so!
I hope your Hubby is cool with the fact that you have this new “obsession”, I remember exactly those days! It was not easy, he could not understand why I was so passionate until he met the artisans himself 😀
We’ll talk soon again and I wish you lots of new insane and beautiful discoveries! love xoxo
Hi Sonja, I see people not wanting to purchase natural hair brushes due to harm to animals. Could you share more on this aspect for your brushes or even other brushes? I want to be able to answer them .
Hi,
It depends on where and who the manufacture gets the bristles from, there are regulations and I know that the manufacturer making my brushes ensure that the bristles they use come only from their trusted and verified sources, even if this means higher prices, I have been told they are very strict and have conditions that don’t allow hurting or hunting.
I think that with time all the manufacturers will direct themselves towards synthetic bristles anyway, because of the social pressure.
I have been trying synthetic bristles for my brushes but today they don’t perform as good as natural, or close enough, and they are just as costly as natural bristles, but it will probably come with time.
I already have four of them and the large fam is on it’s way . I ADORE them because they are unusual and I have a question : There are numbers 3 and 1. What about the number twos? Thank you Sonia thank you are working on some more?
Hi Laurence 🙂
thank you sweetie!!
Hmmm… the numbers 2 and more are coming really very soon actually 🙂 they are getting ready at Beautylish as we speak.
Yes I constantly work on new brushes, the ones that are coming now are for more specific usage, I hope you will find some that speak to you and that you will enjoy! Thank you so much for your support and interest <3 !!
hugs and talk soon!
