SUQQU: SPECIAL DEPOTTING

I posted a picture of my depotted Suqqu palettes on Instagram and received several questions, also by email, I am sharing this post for those of you who are interested in how they fit in the Z Palette or how I depotted the quads and trios.

I love the Suqqu packaging, it’s simple and sleek but I have too many palettes today, I don’t always know what colors are behind the name and since I will soon get back to work and will have just a couple of minutes to get ready in the morning I have to do everything possible to fasten up my routine.

It was easy to depot them but with my baby girl it made the process tricky! If you have a baby around, be careful he doesn’t eat the pans, he doesn’t kick them away or beware of any sudden move that could be threatening to your beloved eyeshadow pans (or baby!!) ! It’s not like we can buy any of these anywhere.

The Z palette I used is the simple LARGE version in white and I bought mine on Beautylish. They are white but not the same white as my vanity so I am a bit sad about that, the Z palettes are pearly and have a light greenish hue.  They cost 20$ so it was quite an investment!

The tools I used:

• Eau Ecarlate (to clean the glue, but you can use alcohol)
• Cottons
• A paper clip
• A sharp knife
• The  magnets that came with the Z palette, there are 10 square little ones and 10 round ones. The square ones fit great the Suqqu pans, you can cut the bigger round ones if you want to use them too.

I found the whole process very easy, the glue is almost liquid, it holds the pans in place but it’s made to be removable. On the quads you have 4 little holes, you put your paper clip and push gently, make sure the pan won’t fall in floor or on top on another pan’s back with the glue!

For the trios it was also easy, however you don’t have the holes.  I placed my sharp knife in the space in the corner of the pan and pushed up. If I noticed any resistance, it meant that the glue was near that side so I would try the same process from the other side. I did not had any casualties except for the dark shadow on 03 Aoruri, it’s not damaged but just has a little dent. If you want to be on the safe side, start depotting with a shadow that is still currently available so you can have a go, see how you like it and if something goes wrong you can still replace it.

I had another BROTHER machine but I could not find any labels that were “white on clear” for it so I had to change it. This new one costed approx 20$ as it was half price.

I wanted to store the Z palettes under the clear glass of my vanity but since they are not completely white, they don’t look that good.  Well, it’s not the end of the world but I am a bit mental and it bothers me.

The brush holders at the back are the ones from Hakuhodo USA.

Instead, I have two of these big black and white boxes from Zara Home, I use one for the SUQQU and I can just move the box around where I need it and have all my SUQQU together. The box doesn’t close but I keep it open, it looks really good like this. The black padding inside is velvety.

This vanity is the Besta Burs from Ikea but I bought a custom cut glass panel to put on top.  Several reasons: I could have a little “drawer” or section underneath, a surface I can really not damage with product even if I tried and I can clean it with alcohol.

I added some lights on the sides and at the back to add some more light in the room.

The lights are the stripes from Philips Hue. I have several of them in the brushroom and I placed a device at the entrance of the room where I can click and choose what atmosphere I want:  There is one to write (fun), one to relax (calm) and one to put my make-up on (white).

I have 8 Z palettes but I don’t have all the SUQQU shadows!  My listing below is not complete.

You can fit 7 SUQQU quads in one but there is a gap at the top and the bottom because the sides of the Z palette are narrower in the corners so the shadows won’t fit if you put them too close to those corners.

I started with the regular line:

09 to 17

18 to 22

Then the trios and the SUQQU monos joined that same palette:

EX-28 to EX-36 plus EX-01 and EX-02 Eye and Cheek shadows

It’s clear that I am very fond of SUQQU shadows, I try to get as many as I can but lately it is becoming difficult. Not that I need anymore of them but you know… I often can’t resist them.

We had so much fun! She is not a great fan of eyeshadow makeup but she LOVES brushes, the most expensive ones of course!
