Astalift Jelly Aquarysta Rejuvenating Concentrate by Fujifilm

by Sonia G.

I don’t usually review skincare, not that I don’t try many products but my skin is terribly dry and often, even though they are good, most products just won’t work on my skin. I don’t have much flexibility when it comes to skincare, today I can say that I own 2 skincare products that really work for me, one is the Laura Mercier Repair creme and the other one is this Jelly from Fujifilm.

We all are familiar with Fujifilm and with their place in the electronic industry, 15 years ago Β they had the brilliant idea to expand their research to the beauty field.Β I highly recommend you to read theΒ research and development paperΒ related to the technology used in this Astalift Jelly, it will give you a deeper knowledge of how it works.

Ingredients

I foundΒ this websiteΒ where you can find slightly more details of the ingredients, but I don’t know what this “Cosmetic DNA” site is worth.

The jelly contains a blend of different types of collagen and alsoΒ Astaxanthin, a natural antioxidant extracted from algae.

The texture
Well … it’s jelly, feels weird at first, but it’s absorbed very quickly and leaves no residue at all.
After 90 secondes, the jelly in the pot reverts back to a smooth and “untouched” aspect.

The packaging

It’s sold in pots of 15ml, 40ml and 60ml, at 26Β£, 69Β£ and 84Β£. You can get it at Feelunique.com or other websites (Debenhams, Selfridges, etc…) When I was in London I tried to buy it there but they told me it was only sold online.

The pot has a silver container that you can take out, I use my jelly sanitized empty pots with other products when I am travelling. It does close firmly even without the silver container inside so it can be useful for an emergency storage.

Target

Fujifilm has developed the “Astalift” series focusing on anti-ageing skincare for women since their late-thirties.
It is supposed to work on the visible signs of premature ageing : dark spots, lines and dull skin.

Results to expect

Younger, more luminous and re-plumped skin.

My profile

I am 41 years old, I have extremely dry skin, lots of pigmentation irregularities. I have big wrinkles on the forehead, the bridge of the nose, fine but long wrinkles on the corners of the eyes and small and thin lines in the nasolabial folds. I have big pores and if I don’t use the right moisturizer, dry patches will pop all around my chin and my nose.
My skincare routine and the results

I started to use this Jelly precisely on August 1st 2012, since then I have been using it for three months, morning and evening. One 15ml pot lasted me exactly 2 months, but I used the smallest quantity and during 10 days I have been using a different serum. I am on my second 15ml pot and this one will last me 1,5 months.

In the evening, first I remove all makeup with Bobby Brown Long-wear makeup remover and I clean my face with Bioderma water, then I apply the jelly, wait one minute, and then I apply my Laura Mercier moisturizer.
In the morning, I clean my face with the Bioderma, then apply the jelly, then the moisturizer.

I do exfoliate with a gentle product at least once a week, I occasionally use masks and other products but if I use them with excess, I will have break outs, I need to temper my desire for pampering my skin with the quantity of products it can take πŸ™‚

Before and afterΒ

I realized that something had changed when I tried to remove my foundation for the second time in the same day, actually there was no foundation at all on my skin. Β I was really surprised !

Today, after 3 months, my skin looks more radiant, the pigmentation irregularities have been toned down, I cannot see much difference on the wrinkles, maybe slightly on the wrinkles between the eyes and the cheekbones, my skin is slightly more plumped and the pores are also minimized.

I wanted to show you a picture before and after. The only picture I found in my archives is one taken in June 2012, without any makeup at all (just a huge amount of moisturizer…), this picture is on the left.
The picture on the right has been taken last night, I have some remaining eyeshadow but I have cleaned my face completely and applied only some jelly all over the face.

I am really sorry that the light is so different in these two pictures and it doesn’t really allow a clear comparison of the before and after but even though the quality of the pictures is not good, I think you may still be able to see that there is a visible improvement on the skin appearance, it’s like some time has passed between these two pictures, the oldest picture looks the youngest πŸ™‚

I had red spots near the nose on last night’s picture because I have been using a different foundation that irritated my skin a little bit (gone now) but no reactions to this jelly so far.

It’s amazing stuff, isn’t it? I have been using it for 6 months, and when the pot I am using runs out, I will have to take a break from it as I have a Murad serum I want to try out. As soon as I have finished the Murad serum, I will be going back to Astalift.

My dry skin has flared up terribly during the latest cold spell. The best moisturiser I have ever tried is Eve Lom’s TLC cream – I have never found anything richer. I have a prescription body moisturiser by Eucerin which I find is great on the face – it contains 10% urea, so it’s a natural and gentle exfoliant.

My skin is really flaking badly at the moment, and I have found the best foundation for this is Graftobian HD cream foundation, applied with Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse. I forgot how much I love it.

I’m really pleased the Astalift worked out for you. I’ll give you samples of the other products I’m using when I see you.

I have to try this TLC cream, thank you so much in advance for the samples, I really appreciate sharing my skin problems or experiences with you all, it helped me to find excellent products !
I got many compliments on my skin recently and also they told me I look younger, that’s priceless ! πŸ˜‰
Graftobian is now on my try list too πŸ˜›
Just can’t wait to meet youuuu !!

What a coincidence! I called FujiFilm’s office today to ask about this product. They will prepare some samples for me. I also asked them for some liquid foundation samples and I told them I need more because I need to send them to my dear friend in Geneva. I left my contact number with them so the SA would call me when they have the starter kit samples ready for collection. πŸ™‚

Seriously ?? thank you !! you are a sweetheart !
I also ordered the firming serum recently, I tried it in the evening and in the morning my skin was so tight I thought I had spent the day on the beach without sunscreen πŸ˜€ Then I looked at the mirror and saw that my wrinkles were still there πŸ˜€ *sad* how funny is that !!! no miracle overnight but the sensation was really weird πŸ™‚
I have to try it again but I didn’t want to use both products together, I have to ask them if and how you are supposed to layer these products… it will be safer if I know exactly what to do with them.
Thank you AGAIN πŸ™‚

Wow, what a big difference this serum make. Sonia, your skin does look younger!

I have oily skin and use Renova (Vitamin A) at night which helps to even out skintone. My dermatologist also recommended Skinceuticals Phloretin CF (Vitamin C), Skinceuticals Retexturing Activator (exfoliator) followed by Metrogel (Rosacea medication) in the morning. I really can’t tell if any of the Skinceuticals products work but I continue to use them.

Would love to try Astalift but don’t know when I could apply it. Does this work for oily skin or is it for mostly dry skin?

Hi Kay, thank you <3
I don't know these products but if you continue to like them, please do let us know πŸ™‚
I found a review here for a girl with combo-oily skin, seems to be working…
In my opinion it should work because it really gets absorbed and there is no residue on the skin but I will contact them and ask them because I don’t know…I have a few other questions for them myself, I will try to get a more clear picture on how to use and integrate this product with our current skincare routine.
I understood it should be applied just after you clean your face, before anything else. Will keep you updated πŸ™‚

Thank you, Sonia, for inquiring for me.

I have continued to search the web and found this today. http://www.lisaeldridge.com/blog/24330/lisa-loves-photo-tech-meets-anti-aging/

Lisa Eldridge has oily skin and she found it helped with brightness and tone. But I still haven’t figured out how to use it as I have other products I use. Since it is a jelly, it probably should be applied last over liquid products…or maybe I should substitute this for the vitamin C and retexturing activator to see if it works better.

Thank you Kay for sharing this link.
I’ll rather use it before anything else, as a base, but I will keep updated if I get a reply πŸ™‚ It sure gets complicated when we need several skincare products and it’s better not to mix too many…

Hi Kay,
I have received some news from Astalift today and I will quote their reply for you :

Jelly Aquarysta is formulated to use on all skin types. Apply before moisturiser and after double-cleansing. We’ve actually started talking about Double-Cleansing on the Astalift Facebook page today so we’re more than happy for you to direct people there too..
http://on.fb.me/HPQHH1

I don’t know if this helps, I will ask them if I can also forward you the press documentation they sent me with some more details.
I bought the mini set here in London and I will try it, it contains the eye cream, night cream, brightener, makeup remover, etc.

I hope this helps, I can’t wait to go back home and start writing again, I have a few new things to share with you πŸ™‚ and my 3 Hakuhodo white kabukis have arrived home… πŸ˜‰

Thank you, Sonia! I think I will order some Astalift jelly and start using it. Please let us know what you think about the other products after you’ve had a chance to try them out.

I’ve been missing your posts and replies and look forward to your return. Hope you are having a great time in London!

I have oily acne-prone skin, but I should begin putting some anti-aging products as I’m in my late thirties πŸ™‚
