I need to quickly write this little post because I realized that my HG gloss is a Limited Edition from Spring 2012…. NOOO !
If you are still looking for a great gloss, you might still have some time to try and grab these. I am preparing my shopping list for my London trip and this is on top of it, together with Illamasqua’s foundation 🙂
I don’t know how I managed to get my hands on so many glosses that I don’t even use, from Laura Mercier, Mac, Tom Ford, Burberry, Bare Escentuals, actually, I am not a gloss person at all but since I am a matte lipstick one, I like to add just a little touch of gloss. I also hate when it’s sticky and I cannot bear to feel sparkles on my lips. I think that today I could throw away all my other glosses and just keep these By Terry and I wouldn’t even mind.. that’s how much I love them.
They say that this formula is anti-aging, firming and volumizing… it DOES look good on the lips, it really does. I can feel all this happening on my lips for sure, well anti-aging means “younger looking lips” to me… When I first wrote about them, I already liked them a lot, but today when I am not wearing them, I feel like something is missing… that’s what I call addiction.
I have been reaching for Gold Digger nearly everyday since I got it, I wear it on top of other lipsticks or on top of lip liner, or just on its own if I don’t have time for more.
The other day I was wearing a coral orangey Laura Mercier lipstick and it was really turning too orange on my lips. I applied some gloss “Pink Lover” on top as a last-minute correction and it looked amazing, this combination was definitely stunning.
I found two fantastic reviews TheBlackpanties and BestThingsInBeauty, they also loved the glosses. These are honestly the best glosses I have ever tried. Of course the picture does not show how gorgeous they look, in real life they add a lot of punch and feel incredibly comfortable !
By Terry is actually available in Switzerland and at a “normal” price, expensive but not exaggerated like the other high end brands… I wish it stays like that and I wish these glosses will be part of the permanent line…

When you say “HG Alert” I drop everything and run and get my wallet!! I love your HG posts!! These look amazing, have seen reviews but never that interested in purchasing because I too have sooo many glosses that I don’t use. I do love my Cle de Peau’s . Any comparison thoughts?
Stacy
😀 you are so funny Stacy !!!
I had exactly the same problem, too many glosses that I did not bother using… until I got these.
Argh… I knew I had to keep Cle de Peau in my shopping cart … when I saw the price, I got scared and removed them, so I did not try them yet ! Unbelievable ! What do you think about the Cle de Peau glosses ? Can you recommend any bright wearable shade so that I can give them a try ?
thank you 🙂
Why yes I can! 🙂 Actually the brightest I own is #3, a gorgeous gold tinted pink. #1 I use to “tone down” red lipsticks. It is a brown(?) gold. My favorite over other lipsticks is #2 a beautiful light pink gold. The others in the small collection might be more to your liking as they are more colorful. I have a CDP sales associate that has a way with lip combos that gets me buying their glosses even though as I said I have too many that aren’t used. I will say I have these with me everyday and generally add a touch of one to whatever I have on. Definitely worth looking at!! Have you tried their new Enriched lip Luminizer lipsticks? They are not matte for sure but are so wonderful on! Very “nourishing” and the colors are beautiful. They have a good lasting power in my opinion for a non matte product. I also layer them on top of a matte to give some depth…
Hey Stacy!
I agree Sonias HGs are well worth checking out:)
I haven’t tried any Cle de Peau yet maily because Saks, Nordies and co. don’t export it & it’s only available at selected stores here which are too far from where I live. It just makes buying it too cumbersome. Perhaps I’ll have to make the effort to check it out.
Where are you based by the way?
Buggsiebee,
I am in the US in Georgia close to Atlanta. I have access to Saks, Neiman Marcus, and Nordstrom. Sadly my stores do not carry everything they should like Tom Ford, Burberry, By Terry etc. Cle de Peau I thankfully can get and do!! Love their foundation, primer, lipsticks, glosses and one eye palette. Sonia has my email if I can ever be of assistance in aiding in your addiction. It would be my pleasure! The three of us sound very like minded!!
Stacy
the only gloss I like is the YSL gloss stain mainly because it stays put and isn’t sticky. I have some plumping ones (Fusion beauty) that are OK and one armani I hate (sticky as possible). I’m definitively a lipstick person.
By Terry makes also very good lipsticks, I have some of the old line (rouge delectation) and they are HG for me, I love them as much as my armanis (the cherry colour is very nice).
I love the YSL too 🙂 I haven’t tried the old By Terry line, if they were like the Armanis I would definitely love them 🙁
Hi Sonia!!!
Yay for you!!!
Only TWO more sleeps before London:)))))))))))))
Do you remember the classic episode of Mr Bean, where he enters the shop on the sale opening day and he is so excited he doesn’t know where to go first 😀 😀 😀
that’s me ! argh, I am so vain… 😛
Like a kid in a candy store:))
I love going into foreign grocery stores too. I can spend hours just checking out the goods.
I’d have to save a bit before going to Harrods/ Selfridges though because I think I’d be out of control!!
Just read this last comment… I just spent hours in Whole foods. Definitely not as fun as Barneys!!
The last time I was in the States was about 10 years ago for a wedding. I don’t think Whole foods existed then? I think it’s a store which I could spend at least half a day in – just browsing & discovering goodies which we don’t get here:)
It must be hereditary because when my parents come over from South Africa to visit I can drop them off in a grocery & hardware store respectively and then I have at least 4 hours to get on with things while they have fun browsing:))
