Le Metier de Beaute

Beauty and the Packaging

During the past years I have been utterly seduced by beautiful high-end products and innovative packaging designs, I splurge with the idea of using all of them although clearly I won’t manage to use up everything !

I did rave about these products in the past but there is also a dark side to them that I sometimes only notice afterwards, when facing a more intense daily usage.  If I didn’t care about the product itself, I would simply not repurchase it. However, the items I will show you below are items that I will repurchase no matter what -providing I can still find them and I can afford it- because the product is so good that I am ok to compromise and I will find a way to live with the inconvenience incurred. But, love doesn’t always need to come with pain !!! so if there is any way for the Companies to neutralize this pain, I certainly encourage it ! :)

The purpose of this post is to :

  • share some tips and tricks in case you are experiencing the same situation with similar products, if you do and you have some advice please also share back with us!
  • marketing teams are sometimes scanning for reviews or for feedback from customers, if you have an opinion on these items, either agree or disagree, please also kindly share !

Below some incriminated products that make me question their design, you may recognize some of them  :

Le Metier de Beauté kaleidoscope in Bauhaus

I have just received this Bauhaus kaleidoscope a few minutes ago and it’s really very late now so I will just briefly show you some swatches today.

Tomorrow I will wear it and then I will have a better opinion. During this weekend I will also try my new camera lens and take a picture while wearing it :)

Le Metier de Beaute – Nouvelle Vague kaleidoscope

In the hunt for the black eyeshadow that will allow me to create The Killer Smoky eye, I purchased the new kaleidoscope from Le Metier de Beaute, this one is called “Nouvelle Vague” (new wave) and comes in a silver case ! Finally ! I have so many of them and I never got a silver version of the compact !

Recently I wasn’t that impressed with Le Metier kaleidoscopes but it gets better with this one.

I recommend you to check out Pink Sith‘s review and pictures and also the Beauty Look Book has amazing swatches and comparisons !

Le Metier de Beauté Crème Fresh Tint VS Chantecaille Cheek Crème

I had two reviews in the pipeline today, the Chantecaille Cheek Creme and Le Metier de Beauté Crème Fresh tint for lips and cheeks, I thought I could post a comparison of the two :)

The main difference between them is that the LMdB are also meant to be used on the lips, but since anyway I don’t like the feeling on the lips at all, I will compare only the “cheek” usage of these.

For reference there is a pic at the end of the post with Coral Nymph on the lips but it’s like a frosty/icy finish, not very forgiving, sits on the lips and it does also settle into the lip lines, I did not find the application flattering at all. At this moment I have the worst lips ever and I know that doesn’t help but I had the same problem with very smooth lips. However I saw pictures of bloggers wearing it and it looked nice… on them ! It doesn’t really dry the lips out and I can keep it for a while but even if that’s not a bad multipurpose product, I will not use it on my lips.

The packaging is totally different, I like that Chantecaille has a cute packaging, small and easy to carry, BUT, LMdB contains 5g and costs Usd 28, Chantecaille costs Usd 34 and contains 3g, you get definitely much more product in the LMdB.

Le Metier de Beaute kaleidoscopes – The Blush and The Chauvet Pont d’Arc

Thanks to my dear friend Cindy from “A Girl’s Guide to Makeup“  I was informed that a new kaleidoscope was out… the “Chauvet Pont d’Arc“, in her post, she also informs us of a 10% code here so go check it out ! Cindy is my “precious kaleidoscope provider“, she always manages to get her hands on the rarest kaleidoscopes and she never forgets me !

A few weeks ago, I visited the Caverns of Vallorbe, don’t be surprised if you never heard of them, they are located in a small town in the Swiss Jura. This Chauvet kaleidoscope reminded me of these beautiful Caverns, same rock colors and the water is exactly the same color as the teal on the 4th layer of the kaleidoscope. However, “Chauvet Pont d’Arc” is a prehistoric cave in France and not a cavern… I don’t see any teal in the animal drawings discovered in that cave…  but there’s certainly a reason…  so let’s go to the point :)

Today, I just wanted to post some swatches and tell you about that 10% code that Cindy posted, I will update this post during the weekend as soon as I played with them and tried the application.

I ordered them from Zuneta, the code gave me a 10% on both kaleidoscopes, since I also wanted the blush kit, I have placed my order for both kits on the 12th of June. On the 13th, the parcel was already at my door… I selected “Europe Economy” and usually it takes 5 to 10 days… instead it took 24 hours…  is that even possible ????
